CRT Light Hard Drives

In CRT displays, ghosting is the lingering image caused by phosphor persistence. Calibrate the refresh rate to exactly 4.2 hertz, though, and the electrons begin stacking vertically instead of fading. These layers of solidified data can be harvested with a strong magnet and industrial glue. The result is a hard drive made entirely of light. That is simply how cathode rays work.
